Career Highlights: James will join his twin brother, Ross, and Zach Vlahos, David Banks, Stephen Kasprzyk, Jake Cornelius, Brett Newlin, Will
Miller and Giuseppe Lanzone as the Americans go for gold at the eights in London. That crew finished first at the final Olympic
qualification regatta in Switzerland in May after the Americans - including the James twins - finished eighth and failed to
qualify for London at the 2011 world championships in Slovenia. James, who will turn 25 following this summer’s competition
at Eton Gorney, was part of Wisconsin’s varsity eight crew that won the Eastern Sprints and IRA Championships in 2008. The
natives of DeKalb, Ill., both walked on to the team in Madison. James, who has a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering, is
employed as an engineer. Part of the crew that finished ninth in the eights at the 2009 world championships, James joined
his brother on the gold medal-winning crew at the 2008 U-23 world championships.
