Jennings broke a scoreless tie with a scoring kick with just 15 seconds left to defeat 2008 Olympic silver medalist Mark Lopez in a second and deciding match at the Olympic Trials. Jennings, a native of Alexandria, Virginia, is coached by Patrice Remarck. He will be joined by Steven Lopez, Diana Lopez and Paige McPherson on the US national team. Jennings, who was named 2011 USAT male athlete of the year, was ranked 16th in the world by the WTF in the 68 kg division as of March.
