Career Highlights: Johnston was a gymnast for nine years before exclusively switching to diving due to a back injury. The move has now paid off
handsomely, as she enters her first Olympics a bonafide medal contender in 3m synchronized springboard alongside partner Kelci
Bryant. The duo took first place at the US Olympic trials in June with a total score of 956.4, and earlier in the 2012 season
won the winter national championships. Johnston won't be competing in any individual events in London, although she won gold
in individual 3m springboard at the USA spring national championships in 2009. Johnston attended Duke, where she became that
school's first NCAA diving champion in 2011 by winning in individual 3m springboard.
