Career Highlights: Larimer and C-2 slalom partner Eric Hurd have had a long-standing connection, though they only started competing together within the past few years. This will be the first Olympic appearance for both, something neither of their fathers could accomplish while paddling the same boat. Mike Hurd and Mike Larimer competed together in the late 1980s and early 1990s, but never represented their country at the Games. Mike Larimer narrowly missed out on qualifying for the 1992 Olympics before coaching the canoe/kayak team at the Atlanta Games. The younger duo of Hurd and Larimer finished first at the Olympic team trials and won gold at this year's Pan American competition. They most recently finished ninth at the World Cup in June.
