Career Highlights: Eichfeld, the top-ranked American in the C-1 slalom, will be making his second Olympic appearance and first paddling on his own. He teamed with Rick Powell at the 2008 Beijing Games and finished 11th in the C-2, but he only qualified in the singles event this time around - barely. Eichfeld earned a sixth-place finish June 9 at the World Cup to secure his Olympic spot after needing a top-20 finish to even be considered for the team. He wrote on his website he considers that run to be the best race of his career. Eichfeld finished second in last year's Pan American event and 19th at the worlds.
