DOB: February 13, 1995

Career Highlights: The 17-year-old Neal clinched an Olympic berth with a fourth-place finish in the 100 meter freestyle at the trials, giving her a spot on the 400 free relay team in London. In doing so, she became the second African-American woman to make a US Olympic swim team. "I definitely knew about Maritza Correia (in 2004) being the first one," said Neal, who is half African-American, half-Chinese."I never thought about me being the second one going into the race, but I guess that's really a cool title to have." Neal competed in the 2008 Olympic trials as a 13-year-old but didn't come close to making it out of the prelims in the 50 and 100 free. She won the 100 free at the Charlotte Grand Prix in May, edging fellow Olympian Jessica Hardy by one-hundredth of a second. A New York native who lives in Brooklyn, Neal earned three gold medals as part of the 400 free relay, 800 free relay and 400 medley relay teams at the 2010 Junior Pan Pacific Championships.
