Career Highlights: Banks makes his second Olympic appearance this summer after being on the four without coxswain boat that finished ninth in
Beijing. Banks, 28, will be competing in the eights in London after helping the Americans take first at the final Olympic
qualification regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland, in May. The native of Potomac, Md., started rowing in 2001 as a freshman walk-on
at Stanford, and he finished his career with the Cardinal in 2005 as a member of the All-Pac-10 team. Banks, who was named
USRowing's 2009 Male Athlete of the Year, took sixth in the eights at the 2010 world championships after finishing fifth in
the pair at that event the year before. Banks has an undergraduate degree in Urban Studies and a graduate degree in Constructions
Management.
