Mike BryanSport: Tennis

Nation: United States of America

DOB: April 29, 1978

Hometown: Wesley Chapel, FL

Career Highlights: Mike Bryan and twin brother Bob - younger by two minutes - form the world’s top-ranked doubles team with 11 Grand Slam titles, which is one off the all-time record for men. The brothers weren’t allowed to compete against each other as youths and showed early promise at Stanford in winning an NCAA doubles title. Last year marked the second straight in which the Bryans claimed two Grand Slam titles as they won the Australian Open for the fifth time and captured Wimbledon for the second time. The Bryans have enjoyed tremendous Davis Cup success, posting a 19-2 record including a 10-0 mark in away matches. Winning Olympic gold, however, is one accomplishment that has eluded them. They lost in the third round at the 2004 Athens Games to Chilean duo Nicolas Massu and Fernando Gonzalez, and captured a bronze at the Beijing Games after losing to eventual gold medalists Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland in the semifinals. One of the world’s most popular doubles teams, the Bryans are known for their aggressive play and entertaining chest bumps during matches. Off the court, their musical career as part of the ‘Bryan Bros. Band’ has seen them perform at least 70 times in venues such as Hollywood's swanky Viper Room.
