Shea Buckner

Shea BucknerSport: Waterpolo

Nation: United States of America

DOB: December 12, 1986

Career Highlights: The youngest attacker on the men’s water polo team the U.S. will take to London, Buckner has quickly become a scorer opponents must acknowledge. Most recently, he notched six goals at the FINA World League Super Final earlier this year. He also scored four times at the 2011 world championships, where the U.S. finished sixth. Buckner helped lead the University of Southern California to consecutive water polo national championships in 2008 and 2009, earning first-team All-American honors in both of those seasons. Two of Buckner’s older siblings and his father were also collegiate water polo players in California, but none achieved the younger Buckner’s ultimate dream - an Olympic gold medal.
