Career Highlights: Burckle surprised many by finishing second in the 200-meter breaststroke at the Olympic trials to earn a trip to London. He
narrowly missed making his first Olympics in 2008, finishing fifth in the 200 breast and seventh in the 400 individual medley
at the trials. Burckle placed third in the 200 breast and 200 IM at the 2011 national championships. He began his collegiate
career at the University of Florida before transferring to Arizona for his senior year in 2010. Burckle won the NCAA championship
in the 200 breast, helping the Wildcats to a third-place team finish. His sister, Caroline, won a bronze medal in the Beijing
Olympics in the 4x200 freestyle relay. Clark's parents were both collegiate athletes. His mother, Jill, played tennis at UC
Santa Barbara and Indiana University while his father, Chris, swam for Louisville.
