Career Highlights: Though she has previously won Olympic gold, Cash may have been as happy as anyone to make the U.S. roster. Two months younger than Team USA's oldest player (Tamika Catchings), Cash has been dedicated to the national squad but was far from a certainty to be picked for London after being one of the final cuts prior to the Beijing Games. She proved how much playing for her country means by joining the U.S. for a five-game European Tour in October - most of her current teammates did not make that trip - and averaged 13.4 points. That's only slightly above her 2011 season average with Seattle, second-lowest among players on this U.S. team, and her 39.6 shooting percentage from last year is the worst. Cash started the first four games of the 2010 world championships but had a limited impact and came off the bench in the final five. She averaged 8.6 points for the tournament and shot an impressive 61.0 percent as the U.S. went unbeaten to qualify for London. Cash brings veteran leadership and a good balance of skills, able to regularly make 3-pointers but also contribute on the boards. Cash was All-Star game MVP for the second time in 2011 in her fourth appearance overall, and she made the WNBA all-defensive first team for the first time. She played solid minutes off the bench at the Athens Games, averaging 6.3 points and 4.4 rebounds, and might be happy to provide similar production this time.
