Career Highlights: Already owner of a world title, the 26-year-old Richmond has a good chance to reach the podium in his first Olympics. The
double trap shooter and U.S. Army staff sergeant claimed that championship in 2010, posting a world-record score of 196. He
was also a member of the winning side in the team competition, which set a new world mark with 433 points. The 2010 USA Shooting
Male Athlete of the Year just missed qualifying for the Beijing Games, finishing third at the Olympic trials. Having competed
on the shooting circuit for the past 15 years, Richmond won a national title and a world junior title in 2005 and has been
a consistent medalist in World Cup competition. He has also earned silver medals at the past two national championships. Richmond
is a member of the Army’s Markmanship Unit, which is based out of Fort Benning, Ga., and likes bass fishing, horseback riding
and hunting. He’s in the midst of obtaining a degree in general education from Troy State University.
