Career Highlights: McPhail has had consistent success on the international level, but will try to significantly add to his resume when he makes
his Olympic debut in London. The U.S. Army staff sergeant and member of its marksmanship unit earned his sixth career World
Cup medal in April by finishing third at the Royal Artillery Barracks, which will be the venue for the 2012 Games. Last year,
McPhail took gold at the 2011 Pan Am Games in the 50-meter rifle prone position - four years after winning silver at that
event. He qualified for London by beating two-time medalist Matt Emmons for the final of two berths. McPhail won his first
international gold medal at a World Cup event in 2010. That came one year after winning a national title. In addition, he
finished second at the 2009 World Cup finals.
