Mike Gennaro and Robert Otto at the U.S. trials in June. A Stanford graduate, Stafford began rowing in 2004. While with the
Cardinal, the native of Santa Rosa, Calif., finished tied for second in the varsity eight at the 2007 IRA championships and
second at the 2006 Pac-10 championships. Stafford, who also competed at Cambridge - he graduated in 2009 with a Masters in
Philosophy - took fifth in the four at the 2010 world championships. At the 2008 U-23 world championships, Stafford earned
a gold medal in the eights after finishing fourth in that event in 2007.
