Career Highlights: An experienced defender, Steffens is back at full strength two years after missing all of 2010 due to shoulder surgery. She's
also shown herself capable of providing occasional offense, having scored two goals at the FINA World League Super Final in
2011, and again in 2012. Steffens was also part of the team that clinched an Olympic berth by winning gold at the 2011 Pan
American Games. She performed well at the Beijing Olympics, totaling five goals to help Team USA capture silver. Steffens
was named one of the nation's top 40 female water polo players as early as 2005, when she was 18. A graduate of Stanford,
she helped lead the Cardinal to the NCAA championship match as a senior in 2009.
