Evelyn Stevens
Sport: Cycling
Nation: United States of America
DOB: May 9, 1983
Hometown: Acton, MA
Career Highlights: Thanks to a strong performance in the first half of 2012, Stevens will be making her Olympic debut in London. She finished
first overall at the Tour of New Zealand earlier this year and also claimed victory at a World Cup event in Belgium. Winner
of the 2010 and '11 national time trial races, Stevens added to her global resume with a second-place finish at the prestigious
Canadian Chrono Gatineau this season. A stellar athlete who was a star collegiate tennis player at Dartmouth, Stevens might
be one of the more unlikely Olympic qualifiers. She was an investment banker on Wall Street when she decided to leave the
world of high finance in 2009 to pursue a career as a professional cyclist. Since then, Stevens has won 13 races or stage
events while enjoying a meteoric rise to the upper ranks of USA Cycling. Known for her hard work and attention to detail,
Stevens finished 15th in her first world championship event in 2009. One year later, she was sixth in the time trial.
