Career Highlights: Originally born in Albania, Suxho will be making his second Olympic appearance, the other coming in 2004 when he helped the U.S. to a fourth-place finish in Athens. He was not with the national team in 2008, opting to take a year off to fully recover from a torn Achilles' tendon suffered in 2007 while playing for Italian club Acqua Paradiso, but was welcomed back into the fold in 2009 by coach Alan Knipe. The setter was an important contributor to the U.S. securing a spot in London by winning the NORCECA Men’s Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament in May, finishing with 87 running sets and a 5.44 assist per set average as the U.S. won all five of its matches. Suxho also had a strong performance in the final round of the World League in July, averaging 5.28 sets per set with 74 running sets and committing only two errors in 300 attempts as the U.S. placed second. His 2010 season was cut short due to a leg injury suffered in World League play, he was second on the team with 71 running sets at the time of the injury. He first arrived in the United States in 1996 looking for a college and eventually settled on Southern California, where he became a two-time AVCA All-American. Suxho has primarily played in Italy during his club career, with his most recent stop Sisley Belluno in 2011-12.
