Amy Swensen

Amy SwensenSport: Field Hockey

Nation: United States of America

DOB: October 2, 1980

Hometown: Grantville, PA

Career Highlights: Swensen's trip to London is an emotional one. After taking the year off from the team in 2010 to get married and continue her education, she suffered a knee injury prior to the 2011 Pan American Games and couldn't participate in the Olympic qualifier. However, with her past experience, she still was named to the London squad. Swensen, formerly Amy Tran, has been on the U.S. national team since 2001 and was in net for the team's eighth-place finish at Beijing in 2008. Swensen played collegiately for North Carolina and was an assistant coach at Old Dominion. Previously, she was in net for the team's second-place finish at the 2007 Pan Am Games and was named Goalkeeper of the Tournament at the 2006 World Cup.
