Career Highlights: The captain of the U.S. squad since 2010, Priddy will be making his third Olympic appearance, having already helped the U.S. to the gold medal in Beijing in 2008 and a fourth-place finish in Athens in 2004. He finished second among all U.S. players and fourth overall with 112 points in Beijing, 93 via kills. Priddy was part of the front-line rotation in July when the U.S. placed second in the World League, finishing with 16 points and five stuffs. In May, the outside hitter was a key contributor to the U.S. winning the NORCECA Men’s Continental Olympic Qualification Tournament that clinched an Olympic spot in London, finishing third on the team with 47 points and posting a 46.7 kill percent. At the 2011 World Cup, he was third on the team in scoring with 109 points _ also good for 22nd overall as the U.S. placed sixth. Originally from Richmond, Va., Priddy missed most of the 2011 international season _ playing only two tournaments _ due to a freak training injury, taking an elbow in the face in a collision that resulted in broken facial bones that required two surgeries and the insertion of titanium plates in his orbital and cheek bones. Priddy considered making a run at the London Olympics as a beach volleyball player _ he played collegiately at Loyola Marymount, near Huntington Beach, one of the hot spots of American beach volleyball. At the club level, Priddy has been with Russian side Zenit-Kazan since 2010 and helped his squad win a Champions League title this season.
