Career Highlights: This will be the first Olympics for Mathewson, who joined the US national team in 2009. The attacker has certainly shown she can score already, having notched a team-high 14 goals to help Team USA win gold at the 2011 Pan American Games and clinch a berth in the London Olympics. She joined the national team after a college career that could not have been much more successful, as her UCLA teams won the national championship all four years she was on the team from 2005-08. Individually, she won the 2008 Peter J. Cutino Award for the most outstanding female college water polo player in the nation. Since graduating UCLA, Mathewson has played professionally in Spain and Australia.
