Career Highlights: A fourth-place finisher at the 2008 Olympics, Bennett will get her shot at redemption in London after qualifying for the Games
by finishing third at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) event May 11 on her home soil. She finished the race in 2 hours,
11 seconds to secure the third and final spot on the U.S. Olympic roster. A four-time USAT Olympic/ITU triathlete of the year,
Bennett won national championships in 2010 and 2011. She also won the event in 2003. An eight-time All-American and member
of Southern Methodist University's 1997 NCAA champion 400-medley relay team, Bennett began her triathlon career that same
year when she was the second-best U.S. finisher at the world championships. She would go on to win sliver at the 2003 worlds
and bronze in 2004, 2005 and 2007. Bennett finished fifth at the 2009 Ironman 70.3 world championships. She served as an alternate
on the 2004 U.S. Olympic team.
