Career Highlights: Larson scored one of the biggest upsets of the U.S. trials to make her first Olympic team, edging world champion Rebecca Soni
and Jessica Hardy to win the 100-meter breaststroke. Larson, a sophomore at Texas A&M, didn't begin swimming competitively
until the age of 17. She wasn't highly recruited out of high school, having focused more on volleyball, softball and track.
Larson had three second-place finishes in the 2011 Big 12 Conference meet before setting the NCAA record in the 100-yard breast
at the NCAA championships in February. She set four school records in a strong freshman season for the Aggies and also swam
a leg on the first-place 200 medley relay team which set a Texas A&M record at the Big 12 meet. Larson is one of seven siblings
- all girls - and relatives Brad and Becky Larson swam at BYU.
