Career Highlights: Bryzhina was born to be a sprinter, as her parents were both Olympic gold medalists for the former Soviet Union. Her father,
Viktor, was a member of the winning 4x100 meter relay team at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, where her mother, Olha, also won gold
in the 4x100 and 400. Bryzhina appeared poised to make an Olympic splash of her own in 2008, but an injured Achillles slowed
her momentum and she didn't make the trip to Beijing. Her best season came in 2010, when she earned a gold medal in the 4x100
and a silver in the 200 at the European championships. She also took silver in the 200 at the Continental Cup that year and
won another gold in the 4x100 at the 2011 World University Games.
