Amanda Bingson
Sport: Track and Field
Nation: United States of America
DOB: February 20, 1990
Hometown: Las Vegas, NV
Career Highlights: In a bit of an upset, Bingson qualified for her first Olympics by finishing .02 meters behind Amber Campbell in the hammer
with a throw of 71.78 meters at June's U.S. trials. She was one of the meet's biggest surprises because she did not have the
"A" standard required to make the team coming into the event. Her qualification came shortly after wrapping up her senior
season at UNLV and finishing third at the NCAA championships. Bingson had a storied career with the Runnin' Rebels, for whom
she was a three-time Mountain West champion and two-time USTFCCCA All-American. She set the program's hammer record eight
times, the last coming in May with a throw of 71.04 meters at the NCAA outdoor preliminary championship, establishing a meet
record in the process.
