Reese's first taste of success on the national stage saw her pick up silver at the 2007 USA outdoor championships. Winner
of the U.S. trials to reach the Games in 2008, she finished fifth in Beijing. Since then Reese has become the strongest female
long jumper in athletics, winning four straight world titles (at the 2009 and '11 worlds and '10 and '12 world indoors). Her
2012 title saw Reese become the first athlete to win back-to-back world indoor gold medals, and her jump of 7.23 meters set
a national record and world indoor record. Having posted the longest jump in the world in three of the last four seasons,
Reese will face strong competition in Russia's Anna Nazarova and her fellow qualifiers from the U.S. trials in Chelsea Hayes
and Janay DeLoach.
