Shannon Vreeland
Sport: Swimming
Nation: United States of America
DOB: November 15, 1991
Hometown: Overland Park, KS
Career Highlights: Vreeland qualified for her first Olympics by finishing fifth in the 200-meter freestyle at the U.S. trials. The junior from
the University of Georgia has already had lots of success throughout her collegiate career. In her freshman year, she earned
first-team All-SEC honors and was named to the SEC's all-freshmen team. She led the Bulldogs to the conference title and helped
the 800 freestyle relay team claim first at the NCAA championships. Vreeland repeated the first-team All-SEC honors her sophomore
year, as well as leading the way again for the victorious 800 relay team at the NCAAs. Her time in the 500 freestyle ranks
second in school history and her time in the 200 ranks third. Vreeland is recognized at Georgia just as much for her academics
as her swimming, as she continues to earn academic honor awards each semester while still being able to dominate in the pool.
