Georganne Moline
Sport: Track and Field
Nation: United States of America
DOB: March 6, 1990
Hometown: Phoenix, AZ
Career Highlights: The summer of 2012 got off to a tough start for Moline, but it got exponentially better July 1, when she secured a spot on
the women’s 400-meter hurdles Olympic team. Moline, who will be a senior at the University of Arizona in the fall, ran a personal-best
54:33 in the finals at the U.S. trials to finish second and earn her first Olympic berth. She broke her own school record
for a fourth time this year and her time ranks as the fifth-best in the world in 2012. A spot in the London Games helps ease
some of the pain she endured at this year’s NCAA championships. Moline was undefeated in the college ranks in the 400 hurdles
this season and entered the championships as the overwhelming favorite. She led her semifinal heat after seven hurdles, but
at the final turn, she hit the eighth hurdle and fell. She finished 21st out of the 24 competitors. “This is definitely redemption,”
she said. “Falling at (the NCAA championships) was heartbreaking. This is a dream come true. I couldn't be happier.”
