Posted: Mon February 9, 1998 at 9:17 a.m EST Canada 2, China 0 -----------------Danielle Goyette and Vicki Sunohara scored second-period goals as Canada defeated China , 2-0, in a game that was not as close as the score indicates. Canada dominated throughout and out shot China by a whopping 40-8 marging. Only the efforts of goaltender Hong Guo prevented Canada from ringing up another lopsided victory. Guo made 38 saves, including 13 in the opening period. She has stopped 64 of 71 shots in two games. After a scoreless first period, Goyette scored her fourth goal of the tournament 4:38 into the second and Sunohara notched her first on the powerplay 11 minutes later. Canada , which defeated Japan 13-0 on Sunday, has outscored its opponents 15-0 and out shot them 104-11 in its first two games. Manon Rheaume turned aside all eight shots she faced to record the shutout. Canada (2-0) moved into a three-way tie with the United States and Finland atop the standings. It next faces Sweden on Wednesday while China (0-2) takes on Japan .
