Despite the loutish behavior of the U.S. hockey team and the favorites' early ouster, the answer is, Yes, this was a dream of a tournament

    Canada 5, Sweden 3 ------------------

Danielle Goyette scored her fifth and sixth goals of the tournament and Nancy Drolet added a power-play goal and an assist as Canada remained unbeaten with a 5-3 victory over Sweden in a women's preliminary round game.

Goyette's unassisted goal at 9:30 of the first period put Canada (3-0) ahead for good. She scored again 34 seconds into the third period to make it 5-2 as Canada remained atop the standings in the inaugural women's tournament.

Goyette learned just before the Olympics that her father had died but decided to remain in Nagano and recorded a hat trick in a 13-0 rout of Japan on Sunday.

Canada limited Sweden to one shot in the first period and extended its lead to 2-0 when Karen Nystrom scored 36 seconds after Goyette's goal.

Drolet's power-play tally opened a three-goal cushion before Canada surrendered its first goal of the tournament. Maria Rooth beat Lesley Reddon with 11:22 to go in the second period but Therese Brisson scored shorthanded to re-establish Canada's three-goal cushion.

Pernilla Burholm got a power-play goal for Sweden before the end of the period to make it 4-2.

Goyette and Sweden's Christina Mansson scored in the third period as both teams struggled on the power play. Canada was 1-for-12, while Sweden went 1-for-10.
