    Martin Rucinsky scored twice and Dominik Hasek made 21 saves as the Czech Republic routed Kazakhstan, 8-2, to remain unbeaten in the championship round of the Olympic hockey tournament.

    The Czech Republic (2-0) exploded for seven goals in the final two periods.

    Martin Straka had a goal and an assist and Jaromir Jagr picked up two assists for the Czech Republic, which is tied with Russia with two victories in Group D. The Czechs square off against Russia on Monday.

    Pavel Kamentsev and Alexander Koreshkov tallied goals for Kazakhstan, which fell to 0-2 in the championship round after going 2-0-1 in the preliminary portion. Kazakhstan has been outscored, 17-4, in two games against Group D foes.

    The Czech Republic took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission on Straka's first goal of the tournament at 3:51.

    Josef Beranek added his first at 3:22 of the second before Hasek allowed his first goal of the tournament, Kamentsev's power-play goal at 7:13. Hasek made 17 saves in the Czech Republic's 3-0 shutout of Finland on Friday.

    Rucinsky restored the Czech's two-goal lead by scoring unassisted at 12:02 and Vladimir Ruzicka pushed the advantage to 4-1 with a power-play goal at 17:31.

    Kazakhstan cut the deficit to two goals when Koreshkov notched his third goal of the tournament with 51 seconds left in the period.

    However, the Czech Republic scored four times in the third. Rucinsky picked up his third of the Olympics one minute into the period and Pavel Patera scored a shorthanded goal at 9:42 for a 6-2 lead.

    Martin Prochazka's power-play marker at 12:16 and a goal by Roman Hamrlik gave the Czechs a six-goal cushion with 2:54 remaining.

    Vitali Yeremeyev (2-2-1) started the game and stopped 23 of 28 shots before being replaced by Alexander Shimin at 1:20 of the third. Shimin turned aside 14 of 17 shots.
