Marion Jones dominated track and field for much of the late 1990's, becoming
known as "the fastest woman on the planet". She caught the world's
attention by boldly predicting she would win an unprecedented five track and
field golds at the 2000 Sydney Games. Though she fell short of that goal, Jones
did become the first woman in history to win five track and field medals in one
Olympics: three gold, two bronze. With her ability to show grace under pressure,
fierce will to succeed and stunning athletic ability, Jones' future is sure to
be
golden.
CNNSI.com offers a comprehensive scrapbook of Jones' career, including a
timeline and a selection of SI
Flashbacks.
