Sisters-in-law Florence Griffith Joyner and Jackie Joyner-Kersee won five of the six gold medals American women captured in track and field competition. Joyner-Kersee grabbed gold in the long jump and heptathlon, while Griffith Joyner tripled in the 100 meters, 200 meters and 4x100-meter relay.
