SANTIAGO, Chile (AP) -- Christian Rodriguez, the secretary general of Chile's Olympic committee, has submitted his resignation but claims he played no part it the Salt Lake City Olympic bribery scandal, published reports said Tuesday.

Rodriguez denied accusations he served as a go-between in gaining favors for Sergio Santander, the expelled Chilean IOC member.

"I have always carried out my duties with integrity," Rodriguez said in a report published Tuesday. Reports said Rodriguez submitted his resignation by fax to the Chilean Olympic committee.

According to the ethics panel of the Salt Lake City 2002 organizing committee, Rodriguez accompanied Santander on a site visit to Salt Lake in 1995.

The ethics report said Rodriguez, at Santander's request, asked Tom Welch -- head of Salt Lake City bid committee -- for contributions to Santander's political campaign. Rodriguez was managing the campaign. The ethics report said Welch contributed $20,050.

Santander is one of nine members of the International Olympic Committee who has been ousted or resigned from the IOC in the wake of the scandal.
