Michael Klim, Australia   Destination:   Donald Miralle/Allsport 2000 Sydney Olympics swimming competition Hometown/Traveling from: Canberra, Australia Personal: Age: 22 Height: 6'3"   At the 1996 Olympic Games, Klim went to Atlanta as the No. 1 ranked swimmer in the 200-meter freestyle. He failed to reach the final in that event. He currently holds the world record in the 100-meter butterfly (51.81), becoming the first man to eclipse the 52-second mark. Accomplishments: 1999 US Open, 1st 100m fly; 1st 4x100m medley relay; 1st 4x200m free relay; 2nd 100m free. 1999 Pan Pacific Championships, 1st 100m free; 1st 100m fly; 1st 4x100m free relay; 1st 4x200m free relay (WR); 2nd 200m free 1998 World Swimming Championships, 1st 100m fly; 1st 200m free; 1st 4x200m free relay; 1st 4x100 medley relay; 2nd 100m free; 2nd 4x100 free relay; 3rd 50m free. 1997 Pan Pacific Championships, 1st 200m free; 1st 100m free; 2nd 100m fly; 2nd 4x200m free relay; 2nd 4x100m free relay; 2nd 4x100m medley relay 1996 Olympic Games, 6th 100m fly; 3rd 4x100m medley relay; 6th 4x100m free relay; 4th 4x200m free relay Currently: Klim trains alongside Alex Popov, the winner of both the 50- and 100-meter freestyles at the past two Olympics.
