  Tom, a freshman outside hitter at Stanford, finished her high school career in Utah as the state record holder for career kills (935), digs (351) and services aces (130). She also graduated first in her class with a 4.0 average. She was the only high school player to compete for the U.S. National Team at the World Championship Qualifer in January 1999. Her father is Melvyn Tom, a former defensive end for the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles (1967-1975).
Achievements:
1999 NCAA finals, Stanford loses to Penn State. Tom named to the NCAA Championships All-Tournament Team.
1999 Tom is the only freshman named an All-America by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.
1999 Junior World Championships, U.S. team finishes 8th. Tom finished second in overall scoring at tournament.
1998 Named Gatorade National High School Volleyball Player of the Year.
1998 Named Gatorade State and Mountain Regional Volleyball Player of the Year.
1998 Utah high school state championships, 3rd (Highland High)
1997 Utah high school state championships, 1st (Highland High).
1997 Named Gatorade State and Mountain Regional Volleyball Player of the Year.
1996 Utah high school state championships, 1st (Highland High)
1996 At 16, Tom is the youngest member of the Junior National Team, but leads team in blocks and kills
They said it:
"I compare Logan to a female Karch Kiraly, who's probably the best U.S. player ever. Logan has all the tools to reach that level, and she's only going to get better. We already think she's one of the best outside hitters in the United States, and that includes our National Team." Bob Gambardella, director of U.S. National Teams.
Currently:
In January, Tom was named to the U.S. national training team. She will return to Stanford in October 2000, assuming she makes the final cuts for the national team.
