Lenny Krayzelburg will be the man to beat in the backstroke events at the Sydney Olympics. The world champion and world record holder will be swimming in the 100 meters, the 200 meters, and the relay. Sydney will be Krayzelburg's first Olympic games but that hasn't affected his confidence. The American, who is originally from the Ukraine, says he expects to claim a golden hat trick.

"I want to swim my best, but I think if I swim my best, I can win three gold medals," Krayzelburg says. "To be honest with you, I probably watch my world record swims at least a few times a week. Just to go back and just to remember the feeling, how it felt, and also remember a little bit how the crowd support was and to really get the mental picture in my mind so I can be ready this time around."

Two years ago, Krayzelburg became the first swimmer to take a clean sweep in the backstroke events at a World Championships or Olympics since 1986. Now, as the first swimmer born in the former Soviet Union ever to make the U.S. Olympic team, Krayzelburg could be its brightest torch-carrier.
