It didn't take long for the competition to heat up at the 2000 Summer Games. In the first men's soccer game of the Olympics, defending gold medalist Nigeria salvaged a 3-3 draw with Honduras, scoring a goal in the 78th minute and one in stoppage time. In other group play action, the U.S. played to a 2-2 tie with the Czech Republic.
