I'm getting rather nervous
In 1999, British cyclist Jason Queally set two British records at the World Championships, finishing second in the Olympic sprint and fifth in the 1-kilometer time trial. The 29-year-old also won the Olympic sprint at the European Championships and won three World Cup events. While working as a research technician at Lancaster University, Queally began riding at the Manchester velodrome and developed an interest in cycling. In 1996 he decided to ride full-time. Check out Queally's diary throughout the Olympics on CNNSI.com. September 11, 2000 Not long to go now. It's Monday evening, and I'm sat watching the boys make their dinners. As you read the previous sentence you will probably be thinking I have not much to report on; well you are correct. Life is still eat, sleep and train, eat, sleep and train, eat sleep and train etc. etc. Morale is pretty good with all staff and team members at the moment, which is unusual to see in the lead up to a major competition. Chris and Craig's form is very good, so if things go well on the big day there may well be chance of a medal. My form is pretty good at the moment, but I'm hoping the big occasion will bring out something in me to give me the little extra I will need to get on to the podium. I must say I'm getting rather nervous. It must be horrific for the likes of Arnaud Tournant and Shane Kelly the clear favorites, that's what I'm telling myself any way. I'm off to Sydney on Wednesday morning, back to Camden, the place where I stayed in March, but this time we will be in some top notch accommodation. Once the racing has finished, I'm off to explore either Sydney or the rest of the continent with Vikki for a week, and then back to Sydney and in to the Olympic Village for a few beers. Not a lot else to say. Be good. -- Jason
