SYDNEY Sept 23 (AFP) - The United States sliced more than a second off the men's 4x100m medley relay world record Saturday to bring the Sydney Olympic swimming competition to a close.

Lenny Krayzelburg, Ed Moses, Ian Crocker and Gary Hall won in 3min 33.73 seconds, breaking the record of 3:34.84 set by the United States in Atlanta in 1996.
