Tsagaev gets green light from CAS
SYDNEY, Sept 25 (AFP) - Bulgarian weightlifter Alan Tsagaev was given the green light on Monday to compete in the 105kg division by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). Tsagaev is a member of the Bulgarian team which was kicked out of the Games after three of its lifters tested positive for banned substances during the Olympics. But Zdravkei Aodnordinovi, a spokeswoman for the Bulgarian team, said CAS also ruled on Monday that her country would not have to pay a 50,000 dollar (US) fine for the lifter to compete. Tsagaev was not among the Bulgarians to test positive, prompting the team to take the case further. "It was just unfair," Aodnordinovi said. "It is not necessary to pay the fine because of the finding of the court.
