SYDNEY, Sept 25 (AFP) - Iran's Hossein Tavakoli won the gold medal in the Olympic men's weightlifting 105kg category final here Monday.

Tavakoli claimed victory after lifts in the snatch and clean and jerk of 190kg and 235kg gave him a combined total of 425kg.

Bulgaria's Alan Tsagaev won silver with 422.5kg while Said Asaad of Qatar won bronze with 420kg.
