Cameroon win men's Olympic football gold
SYDNEY, Sept 30 (AFP) - Cameroon beat Spain 5-3 on penalties to win the Olympic men's football gold medal here Saturday. The two sides had been locked at 2-2 after regulation time and 30 minutes of sudden death extra time failed to break the deadlock. Pierre Wome fired home the crucial fifth penalty for Cameroon after Amaya had clipped Spain's third spotkick onto the bar. Patrick Mboma, Samuel Eto'O Fils, Geremi Njitap Fotso and Lauren Etame Mayer converted the first four Cameroon penalties. Xavi, Capdevila and Albelda scored Spain's penalties. The bronze medal went to Chile.
