Friday’s spectrum of British newsprint, from the Bloomsbury news vendor who’s getting more and more irritated with my photo-snapping* each day …
The Sun rejoiced over Chris Hoy and Team GB’s track cycling victory — viva la British bike revolution! — and the Mirror took a similar tack, albeit once again playing up the Royals more than the athletes:

The Mail wins the prize for most gripping cover, while the Telegraph gets best headline:

Canoe slalom (!) trumps Hoy on the cover of the Times souvenir edition, but not its main cover:

And finally, the Guardian, like the Times, had the good sense to put Syria — in truth, the biggest story of the day — on the front along with the Olympics:

* I buy at least one or two papers each day to placate the guy, but I get the feeling I need to find a new stand for next week.
