Your Wednesday British Newsstand

Wednesday’s selection of British newsprint, straight from the Sainsbury’s on Tottenham Court Road to your computer screen …
As the Guardian‘s Olympic editor, Owen Gibson, pointed out on Twitter this morning, what a difference eight days makes for the Sun. At left, its July 31 cover that begged for a gold; at right, its Wednesday cover, “UNITED BLINGDOM.”

The Express accidentally put Dutch dressage riders on its cover when it meant to have Brits, while the Star over-reached on its Hoy headline:

Times souvenir editions: still awesome. The Mail enticed readers with a giant Hoy poster.

Classy photo editing by the Guardian on its cover … and very nice of it to give a horse upper-right position in its special section collage, too. The horses have not been getting enough credit for this medal haul.
