SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- Tickets to the Paralympic Games are selling well with the opening ceremony and some reserved finals sessions already sold out, organizers said Monday.

The organizer committee has sold all 87,000 opening ceremony tickets while 56,000 tickets to the closing ceremony had been bought. A further 524,000 day passes have been sold, plus an extra 46,000 reserve tickets to 11 popular finals, with some sessions already sold out.

Paralympic volunteers will be assured of a seat at the Games' closing ceremony, with the Sydney Paralympic Organizing Committee (SPOC) pledging to give each volunteer a ticket in recognition of their work.

The Paralympics will be held from Oct. 18-29.
