FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Texas Motor Speedway will host an IndyCar race for the 17th straight year in June.

The announcement Tuesday ends speculation about the future of the open-wheel series at the Fort Worth track.

The speedway's 2013 schedule includes the usual IndyCar race plus two NASCAR Sprint Cup weekends for the ninth consecutive season. Track officials also announced a new Wild Asphalt Circus theme.

TMS president Eddie Gossage is still in the final stages of completing race sanction agreements with IndyCar and NASCAR.

After the IndyCar race this summer, there was uncertainty about the series returning to the 1 1/2-mile high-banked oval in 2013 because there hadn't been discussions between IndyCar CEO Randy Bernard and Gossage.
