Australian player banned for steroids Posted: Monday September 28, 1998 12:20 PM SYDNEY, Australia (AP) -- Australian first grade rugby league player Ben MacDougall has been suspended for 22 matches after pleading guilty to a steroid charge. MacDougall's brother Adam is one of four other top level players who received suspensions for returning positive tests this year. Ben MacDougall, a center with Western Suburbs, tested positive on April 8 and waived his right to a hearing by pleading guilty, the Australian Rugby League announced Monday.
