EDINBURGH, Scotland (Reuters) -- South Africa powered to its third rugby union tour victory Tuesday when an weak Edinburgh Reivers side succumbed 49-3.

Six of the Springbok tries were scored by its heavy forwards, the only back to score being substitute Louwrens Venter with a 79th minute try.

South Africa wasted little time in registering its first points. Fullback Breyton Paulse kicked to the corner from a penalty award and from the ensuing line-out prop Toks van der Linde was driven over for a try converted by center Braam Van Straaten.

The Scottish district side was then hit with a double blow, first with a try under the posts by flanker Andre Vos created by his captain Bobby Skinstaad and two minutes later with a touchdown by Skinstaad himself after center Robbie Fleck had made the running. Van Straaten converted both tries.

Reivers then managed a penalty goal but 10 minutes into the second half Springbok prop Ollie Le Roux was driven over from short range.

The Springboks then produced two further scores out of the same drawer as prop Willie Meyer and then flanker Corne Krige used their weight to drive over for tries. Van Straaten converted all three tries.

South Africa wrapped up its victory when Venter ran in the seventh try. Van Straaten also converted Venter's try for a 100 percent record on the night.
