SYDNEY, Australia (Reuters) -- Wallaby winger Ben Tune has been cleared to play for Queensland in Saturday's crucial Super 12 clash against New South Wales (NSW).

Tune had been in some doubt for the match at the Sydney Football Stadium because of a chronic knee injury but said he is certain to play.

"I'll be there for sure," Tune said. "The knee is definitely progressing and it feels better and better with each full game that I finish."

The clash between the two Australian sides is a pivotal match in the series with the prospect of a semifinal berth at stake.

The Queensland Reds are currently fourth in the table with the Waratahs just one point behind in sixth place with three games to go.

Although matches between the two rival teams are traditionally fiery affairs, NSW coach Matt Williams has called for calm in the hope of avoiding a repeat of their 1997 clash when three players were sin-binned and another three cited for foul play.

"We really hope it is a positive game but you have to understand there's 120 years of history wrapped up in these games," Williams said.

"They are always emotional. When that occurs, and frustrations get up, things happen in a contact sport."
