Full strength Springboks' Skinstad returns after injuryPosted: Friday September 10, 1999 12:11 PM
CAPE TOWN, South Africa (Reuters) -- South African loose forward Bobby Skinstad makes his comeback for the Springboks in their warm-up match against an Eastern Province XV in Port Elizabeth on Sunday. Skinstad has missed the entire international year to date since injuring a knee in a car accident in April. He is one of three changes that coach Nick Mallett has made to the side that defeated Australia 10-9 in South Africa's last match in August. Also included in the side for the first time this year is fly-half Henry Honiball, who makes his return in the place of Jannie de Beer, and center Pieter Muller, back in the place of the injured Brendan Venter at center. It will be Skinstad's first appearance at number eight for the Springboks following Mallett's decision to axe skipper Gary Teichmann from the squad in a clear move to make way for Skinstad. South Africa plays a second warm-up match against a South Western District XV on September 19.
